Like
most bands from the Melodic and Hard Rock genres, and most other genres
for that matter, Drive She Said became a victim of the Grunge era and
fell by the wayside. Then 2009 the band were invited to play the
UK’s Melodic Rock festival Firefest, such was the enthusiasm of the
fans on that day, the core members of Mark Mangold and Al Fritsch were
signed by Georg Siegl of AOR/Metal Heaven records, for a compilation of
his favourite Drive She Said songs, but also some Michael Bolton and
Cher tracks. The
resulting album ‘Dreams Will Come.. The Best Of & More'. An album
that not only features some of the bands classic cuts but also the boys
rendition of songs they themselves wrote for Bolton and Cher, songs that
became classics for the stars themselves. This
album also includes the singles first that got the ball rolling for the
band, ‘If This Is Love’ and ‘Think Of Love’, together with two
new songs, one of which was written on the night of the Firefest show,
‘Dreams Will Come’ and the thumping rocker ‘Try2LetGo (FukUUP)’ This is
a must for fans of the band and lovers of good Melodic Rock,
one which showcases one of the bands at the top end of the genre,
who I’m sure if it wasn’t for the whole Grunge thing would have been
international stars and household names, but like most of our favourite
bands they took a bullet for their art and went down fighting but to no
avail. But you
can't keep an old dog down because the band are coming back to show the
world what they’ve been missing all these years, with a tour penciled
in for Summer 2010, this best of album is just a taste of what’s to
come I’m sure. |
