Wow!
This E.P is the Eighties coming back at you kicking and screaming!
If you grew up listening to Kiss, Guns N'
Roses, Metallica, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden then this bad boy is for you
!!!. This
is another excellent release by 100% Rock who bring you Diamond
Eye from Perth Australia. Diamond
Eyes five song E.P is deep, dramatic and very effective.
With The first track 'Waiting For Me', I
had to have a double take because I thought I had put on Kiss
album!, which is a huge compliment to these Aussie Rockers and
without doubt the stand out track on this E.P . Next
up is 'Closer To the Sun' clever lyrics intertwined with a hooky chorus
are the best way to describe this one.
'Atlantis' and 'Machine' are both chest pounding adrenaline
fuelled songs tearing through your speakers like a runaway train. 'Sound of the Guns' starts off with some wonderful licks, bit of a monster track this one with pounding drums and lots of woah woahs to end a very impressive E.P Some
of the guitar solos do remind me of KISS, but there is also some Iron
Maiden in there, as well as Judas Priest and definitely Guns
N' Roses. This is the second band signed to this label (Baby Jane
also) who I have had the pleasure of listening to in
recent weeks. Diamond
Eye are known in their homeland for their massive live shows and special
effects, and are a band champing at the bit to
gain a bigger
reputation in the wider world, rather than just “Down Under“,
let’s hope this E.P gets the
recognition it deserves as they
call their their
music “Stadium Rock” at its finest
…and they aren’t wrong. Review by: Seb Di Gatto |
