Hailing from the Baltic region of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in the former East Germany Die Vorboten haven’t bowed to Western influences and post Berlin wall fashions and have stuck to releasing their music with German lyrics and to be honest, the music the band produce suits this more, well it hasn’t done Rammstein any harm. With
all the angst of youth mixed with fire and brimstone they produce an
industrial metal that will cut to the quick whilst unleashing the inner
struggle in us all. From
the outset Aufschrie (Outcry) will pummel the very senses as the opening
barrage of ‘Das Volk’ and Vaterland’ pull no punches, big synth-bass,
electronica metal oozes from line. The
album keeps up the pressure on the senses with the pummeling aptly
entitled ‘Extreme’ and the heart stopping angst filled
‘Hauptstadt’, but all this is nothing to the all out electro thunder
of ‘Schmiede Schmeidel’. The
band venture into the Symphonic Electro Pop/Metal world with
‘Schreitl’, before turning up the heat once more with ‘Der Weg,
which leads us nicely on to my favourite track off the album, the Metalfest that is ‘Dein
Herz’. The band don’t rest on their laurels as its all out war with ‘Freigeist’, before reaching down into the darkest chasm for the short electro/classical mix of ‘Krautsinfonie Op.1’, which leads into the album closer the intense ‘Hass’, the song that round off this debut release from a band that is leading the New-Wave of Kraut-Metal. |
