After a somewhat up and down career with Warrior Soul, a band that didn’t seem to get the breaks they deserved, vocalist Kory Clarke has found a new market for his down and dirty vocal style, this time with punk metal stalwarts Dirty Rig. After the band original vocalist Ed Sebastian left the band high and dry for a gig in New Jersey in the Summer of 2005, leaving the three remaining band members no other option than to cover his vocal duties, the band decided to check out Clarke at a re-vamped Warrior Soul gig. Bassist Buckshot gave Clarke a copy of the bands material and the rest as they say is history. The album opens up with ‘Suck It’ and straight away the band's no nonsense rock n roll is there for all to hear, with Clarke’s vocals sounding as sleazy as ever and the tuned down guitars of Chas Banellis, that match the sleazy vocals superbly. The tempo never lets up with ‘Drunk Again’, another sleaze punk fest, with lines like ‘instant asshole just add bourbon’ and ‘I like those liquid lunches’, this is a true Saturday night rocker and a track that will truly upset the PC police out there. The album never lets up with hard hitting tracks like ‘Just A Star’, ‘Dogs’ and the superb title track ‘Rock Did It’. If your expecting a couple of slower tracks then you will be bitterly disappointed as Dirty Rig are full on rock n roll and take no prisoners with their very infectious musical style. Other
stand out tracks are the riff laden ‘Hot Porno Star’, ‘Thrown
Down’, the almost thoughtful ‘Cities’, the down n dirty ‘If You
See Kay’, and the hard hitting ‘Pennsyltucky’.
