Artist: Dismember
Title: The God The Never Was
   Label: Regain Records

Swedish band Dismember have been treading the death metal boards for some 18 years, and have long been established as forefathers in the genre since their debut ‘Like An Ever Flowing Stream’ back in the early 90s.

With this their latest release the band have gone back to their roots and produced an album of uncompromising Death Metal.  They open up with the intense title track ‘The God That Never Was’ and from then on the frenzied twin guitar assault by David Blomqvist and Martin Persson take over and there is simply no turning back.

With the pace and ferocity at it's highest on the tracks ‘Shadows Of The Mutilated’, ‘Autopsy’, ‘Phantoms (Of The Oath)’, and the more doom ridden tracks like ‘Into The Temple Of Humiliation’, it's plain to see that Dismember are back and are going to show the young pretenders how it's done, and that they are still a force to be reckoned with.

After their two year hiatus Dismember are well and truly back and firing on all six.
