Artist: Dragonlord
   Title: Black Wings Of Destiny
   Label: Escapi Music

Black Wings of Destiny is the second release from Dragonlord, the band formed by former Testament guitarist Eric Peterson and is another metal rampage, which see the mix of soaring symphonic metal with the black metal vocals and gut wrenching guitar riffs.

The album opener proper 'The Curse Of Woe' takes you by the throat from the first note and doesn’t let go till the last note of 'Black Funeral'.
What lies between these is some of the hardest fasted metal this site of hell.

The mix of orchestral backing and hard guitars is never more dominant on the album than on 'Revelations' the track goes full belt from the off and never eases in pace and power throughout.

'Sins of Allegiance' is another gut wrencher that starts of slowly but quickly gets up to break neck speed and is a metal heads delight.
The album is full of speed and majesty and is a testament (sorry but no pun intended) to Peterson's commitment to the bands overall sound.

With Peterson's vocals adding a dark side to the overall Dragonlord sound there is a surprise package on this album it comes in the form of a quite astounding cover version of Thin Lizzy's
'Emerald'.  In the words of Peterson himself "... the lyrics to 'Emerald' fit the epic feel of the album, it may not 'fit' musically, but it shows that there are no limits.  We plan on doing this for a long time and the future is wide open."

They say the devil has all the best tunes
, then Satan will be at a store near you in the New Year buying this one.
