Artist: Dreamhunter
   Title: Kingdom Come
   Label: Z Records

Z Records are one of my favourite labels around at the minute, why? Well anyone who gives bands like Dream Hunter a record deal has got my vote for starters. Until very recently I am ashamed to admit I had never heard of this band.

The title track I had actually heard however as it was on the Classic Rock CD - Classic Cuts No. 13. At the time I thought it was pretty good but never got around to checking out anything more by the band. Shame on me! What I missed out on was some rather fantastic tunes by this Scandinavian band. In future it won't take me so long, in fact I'm going to be one of the first in the queue!

If you have that particular version of the Classic Cuts series then dig it out and have another listen to that track, if you like it then there's a whole lot more of the same goodies on this album.

Anyone who can remember the mighty Little Angels who stormed the UK for much of the 80's will adore the track 'Anyway you want It'.  It has everything in it you could ever want from a good time dance track. I could imagine this particular also appealing to a lot of the glam rock fans out there as it really is a cheeky little number. It also has some gorgeous piano parts to it in the middle just before the big build finish.

'My days are Counted' is a gorgeous ballad that will see even the most hardened of hearts melt. Totally slushy and is a cross between Bon Jovi and Bonnie Tyler's vein of ballads.

It's a real girly winner. Once again the piano plays a big part throughout the whole song. You probably couldn't get much more of a contrast between this one and the above mentioned 'Anyway you want It'.

'Long cold Winter' shows just how good the bands guitarists can be. That combined with lead singer Stig vocals make this lively track another strong feature of this excellent collection.

Another cheeky track that soon hooks you in with it's infectious riffs and addictive chorus is 'Rose Tattoo' - a song about an encounter with a mysterious young woman sporting a Rose Tattoo! I'm sure there's more than one of them out there but if this is a recollection of an actual event then some girl sure made an impression on one of these guys.

Lastly another favourite of mine, is 'All dressed Up'. Yeh I know I like the lively ones but this band do them soooo well! They do the slow ones just as well but it's the lively ones that get me jumping in my seat and singing at the top of my voice!

The closing track 'Take my breath Away' is the best ballad off the whole album. It's soft and gentle without being in your face and sickly sweet. Oh this album is an absolute delight! What a corker of a debut album eh?
