Artist: Dry Kill Logic
Title: The Dead And The Dreaming
   Label: SPV Records

Dry Kill Logic are a band that have had their ups and downs over the past few years, with label problems and various line up changes the band have finally found a home at SPV and have put together a band that can release the type of material that they were meant to make, that is pure and raw metal.

'The Dead And Dreaming' is collection of 11 songs that will quite simply blow you away with its monstrous bass lines and gut ripping guitar riffs and Cliff Rigano’s snarling vocals.

Opening up proceedings is the totally over the top 'Lost' that sets the pace for the rest of the album a monumental metal track that will have your ears bleeding from the onset, a moshers dream. The inclusion of Jason Bozzi on guitar has given the band a greater depth and determination to arrive at their goals musically and as a band.

'Paper Tiger' is an interesting track with the change in vocal styles on the chorus give the track a certain complexity and raise the level of the track from a just another heavy track to one of structure and intensity.  The same change is heard throughout the album but is put to the best effect on 'Paper Tiger'.  It makes you wonder why the change from almost melodic to the down right growl.

Maybe it’s just the nature of the band and the vocals associated with a hard and heavy rock band and that’s the guise the band what.  Still the complexities of the vocals shouldn’t put you off, if you're into the harder side of rock like Machinehead and Slayer and the like than you should give this album a listen and make up your own mind.
