Artist:  Michael C Dragon
   Title: Dragon Of Transsylvania
   Label: Yesterrock

In the world of Melodic and Hard Rock we saw some groundbreaking albums released on vinyl back in the day and a few of these gems have been remastered and re-released over the years, and another to get the revamped release treatment is the 1997 Michael Dragon album 'Dragon of Transsylvania', an album that was originally released on Dragons own label at the time and was regarded by many as one of the albums of the genre in that era.

Originally the album was only seven tracks long but this new album has not only been remastered, but also expanded by three more tracks.

Like many albums of the genre being able to stand the test of time is always a bonus and this album easily stands up against most of the albums released today.  With great melody comes great responsibility to the genre and this album holds its own in all categories.  Great musicianship, great tunes and a voice to carry it all off.

With some of the highlights being ‘Still Loving You’, the up tempo rock of ‘Fire In Your Eyes’, the tongue and cheek ‘Transsylvania Calling’ (both versions), the 80’s hard rock of  ‘Stop The Countdown’, the great bluesy tones of 'Ghetto Blues' and 'Song Of Hope', and my personal favourite the Survivor like ‘Gladiator – No Time To Cry’, which rounds off a very good release and one that deserves another spin for old time sake.
