Band: Rattlesnake Remedy
Title: Drag Me Down
Label:  BEM Records

Rattlesnake Remedy, remember the name because this band are hotter than hell, have more swagger than a John Wayne movie, and come at ya 200 miles an hour with kickass songs that will knock you over and turn you blind with excitement.

I kid you not, these guys really know how to get those juices flowing with their mouth wateringly delicious songs.  As a teen of the 80's believe me I know these things.  There's so many wannabe bands out there right now who claim to have something fresh, new and exciting to offer you, but sadly few actually live up to all the hype.

However, Rattlesnake Remedy are one of the hardest working and committed bands out there at the minute.  In fact I strongly suspect their whole life has been one long tour because they never seem to be off the road.  I've seen a fair few of their shows now to be able to confirm that what you hear on this single is indeed a fair representation of what the band are capable of.

Of course it doesn't give you the full visual display of what they have to offer and for that my lovelies you'll need to pop along to a gig and check them out for yourselves.  However, this single contains 3 tracks that you'll most definitely hear included in their live sets.  Not only that but they'll have you jumping in the aisles and climbing up the lighting rigs to get a better look.

If you're old enough to remember the glorious 80's with such good time rock n blues bands as The Quireboys and the Dogs D'Amour, then you'll have a pretty good idea where this bands roots lie.  Throw in a touch of Jack Daniels, a packet of tabs and a harmonica and hey presto you have a blue-print of what runs through the veins of these 5 very talented musicians.

Like some sexy hip swinging version of a long lost Quireboys song 'Drag You Down' hits all the right spots from start to finish, with vocalist Lee sounding not a million miles away from the legendary Brian Johnson, backed by a pounding drum beat and wicked guitar riffs throughout, an anthem in the making if ever there was one.

Changing the pace somewhat is 'Black Sheep Fiddle'  Not quite sure what the song's about but with a title like that it's probably best not to ask too many questions if you know what I mean.  Starting with a tasty guitar intro before launching into the full force rocking machine, another tasty track that rapidly grows on you right from the first listen.

The final song on this single is the rather delicious 'Hangover Blues'.  Oh my, just listen to those gorgeous harmonica's tones.  This song is sexy, raw and raunchy blues with such a seductive beat.  It's a real drinking man's (or woman's, let's not get sexist here) song.  It's singing about those Hangover Blues that I'm sure we've all had on more than one occasion.  No doubt having spent most of the past 12 months on the road, it's probably something the guys have also encountered in one city or another.

Like homeless gypsies these 5 young men continue to bring an aural delight to all that hear them.  Long may it continue and I for one can't wait to hear their debut album when it's released later this year.
