Artist: Eden's Curse
   Title: Trinity
   Label: AFM Records

It was back in 2004 when the world of melodic metal was witness to one of most anticipated releases of that year, the band Eden’s Curse, the album 'Eden’s Curse', which the band followed up with their second album ‘The Second Coming’, again a stunning slab of fine melodic hard rock/metal.

The rumour mill started saying the band were just a studio project and would never play live, but that was put to rest as the band hooked up with Stratovarious and Firewind and rocked the UK stages. Then to show this was no fluke the band linked up with heavy weights Alestorm and The Rotted and won over the crowds once more.

That was back in 2009 and now in 2011 Paul Logue, Michael Eden, Pete Newdeck, Thorsten Koehne and Alessandro Del Vecchio are back with the band's latest and strongest album to date.

After the intro ‘Trinitas Santus’ it's all guns blazing, shoot from the hip melodic metal with the title track ‘Trinity’, as the thunderous back beat of Logue and Newdeck pounds the way for the fiery licks of TK and the power driven finger tips of Del Vecchio on keys, with those unmistakable vocals of Eden adding that final piece of the puzzle.

It's onward and upwards as the album continues its tour de force with the stunning ‘Saints Of Tomorrow’ as the fiery fingers Del Vecchio and TK gets this one underway, before the backbone rhythm section of Logue and Newdeck take this track to the next level.  All the while you are just pre-empting an Eden vocal strike force which hits and delivers the most deadly of punches.

Next it's time to bring the tempo down just a smidgen with the first single off the album, the towering ‘No Holy Man’.  A stunning guitar and keyboard laden triumph, this is modern Melodic Metal as it should be.  Stunning, simply stunning, which sees Eden sharing vocal duties with James Labrie.

The astute of you will have noticed a running theme throughout the album and that theme is continued with the majestic tones of the ballad ‘Guardian Angel’, before rocking things up once more with ‘Can’t Fool The Devil’, with TK unleashing as barrage of licks as he gets this one up and running.  All the while Newdeck punches out a monsters back beat on this real heads down metal track.

It's back to the more Melodic Hard Rock side of The Curse with another of my favourite track of the album the excellent ‘Rivers Of Destiny’, this one finds Eden’s at his towering best.

TK and Del Vecchio once again bring in their thunder as they get the Hard Rockin’ 'Dare To Be Different’ underway.  Again a great melody rich slice of Melodic Metal, before bringing the tempo down once more with the stunning ‘Children Of The Tide’.

It's pedal to the "METALLLL!!!!" once more with the angst filled ‘Black Widow’, then it's time for another favourite of mine 'Jerusalem Sleeps', which is quite simply another a towering slice of Melodic Metal with TK bringing the big licks home on this one.

This superb third opus ends with the band paying tribute to Ronnie James Dio with an excellent version of ‘Rock n' Roll Children’, a fitting tribute to the great man and a great way to round off what is the bands strongest and most impressive release to date.  I for one can't wait to hear these new songs out on the road in the live arena.
