Formed from the ashes of German rock band Megaherz, Alexx Wesselsky and Noel Pix search for a new project brought the two back together, they united in the formation of Eisbrecher. The band was originally a two-man project, but for the band to expand into the live environment meant also meant expanding the band to six members. So joining the duo are Felix on guitars, Maximator on keyboard duties, who collaborated on most of the bands material anyway, so really he was a natural choice for the live conception of the band, Renee on drums and completing the line-up we have Miguel on bass. This is the second release from Eisbrecher and with this new six-man line-up the band have entered into their most power incarnation, brining forth their own brand of techno metal. Although the album is entirely German speaking, this doesn’t deflect the listener from the power and majesty of the German’s techno metal display. The album gets under way with ‘Der Antang’ and straight away the Rammstein similarities come streaming forward, but this can't be helped and I will try to make this my last reference to Rammstein. The heavy bass tones and quite distinctive German vocals make this hard to do, but I will try. The album continues with ‘Adrenalin’ and ‘Leider’ are two definite club anthems as they grinds along at an infectious pace, which leads us nicely on the way to another electro heart thumper in the form of the title track ‘Antikorper’. The band really show their teeth with the angst ridden ‘Entlassen’, a more down tempo affair before picking things back up a touch with the darkly menacing ‘Ohne Dich’ and the equally dark ‘Phosphor’. The
pace is soon picked up again with the infectious ‘Kein Mitleid’
before returning to the pulverizing tones of ‘Kinder Der Nacht’ and
‘Vergissmeinnicht’. |
