Artist: Craig Erikson Project
   Title: Shine

So many good releases around this month it was extremely difficult to choose the Groove choice for the cover of this months catalogue. So in time honoured fashion we decided this on a turn of a card and Craig Erickson won with the Queen of Hearts.

So what's all the fuss about I hear you cry? If your bag is blues rock with some riff heavy guitar that is very reminiscent of Hendrix, Trower and Marino with cool soulful vocals then you are now officially in heaven.

Erickson is joined on vocal duties by ex-Riverdogs man Rob Lamothe on 6 tracks and by Glen Hughes on one. It has to be said that the Hughes track is the weakest track on the album. That's not to say it is a bad track its just that the rest of the album is so damn good. Apart from Erickson's brilliant guitar delivery throughout the album special mention goes to Rob Lamothe for his excellent contribution on the six tracks that he is featured and on the title track Shine they come together perfectly.

If any of you are in any doubt of Erickson's credentials as a top flight axeman then you should check out Doomsday Blues where he really shreds and puts other so called blues players to shame (Gary Moore --- Yeah Right!!!).

This is an essential guitar and hail my brother in Groove Joe Romagnola for letting this see the light of day. Awesome!!!
