Faith and Fire is the new band formed by former Riot stable mates Mike Flyntz and Tony Moore. Completing the line-up are John Miceli on drums and Danny Miranda on bass. Together this quartet have put their combined talents on an album that drags the whole classic rock sound kicking and screaming into the now. The album opens up in fine style with ‘Ready’, which immediately shows the quality of the band, especially the vocal talents of Tony Moore as he powers his way through the track, supported by the sometimes immaculate guitar of Flyntz. The talents of Flyntz are really put out for all to see (or hear as the case may be) throughout the whole album, as he brings his unique and sometimes neo-classical sound to the album, none more so than on the guitar rich ‘Villanelle’. The die hard melodic rockers among you will just love the next track ‘Everything’, as this has everything you could ever hope for, from a great chorus to some fine structural guitar work, and a vocalist who can reach out to even the most hardened of hearts. ‘Radio Superstar’ is a great up tempo rocker that leads nicely into that neo-classical guitar sound that I was telling you about, with one of my favourite tracks off the album ‘Breathe’. By the time I reached the mid section of this album the band could do no wrong in my eyes as things just gets better and better, with such great tracks as the excellent riff laden rocker ‘Fallen’ and the beautifully moving ballad ‘Ashes’. The band bring the hard rock sound bang up to date with the excellent ‘Avenue Z’ as Flyntz shows what a talented guitarist he is and this continues on into the title track ‘Accelerator’. The tempo slows down once more for the gentle tones of ‘Angel’, before the album is brought to a close with another up tempo rocker ‘America’. This is a great album that will appeal to both the purest and more forward thinking Melodic/Hard Rock fan
