Artist: Falkenbach
   Title: Heralding The Fireblade
   Label: Napalm Records

Heralding the Fireblade is the fourth release from Vratyus Vakyas's Falkenbach, and yet again Vakyas has put together a mixed bag of tracks ranging from the calming almost hymn like, to the more extreme black metal soundings, which all makes for a very diverse album indeed.

The album opens up with the gentle symphonic 'Heathen Foray' which meanders along quite nicely. Then the album takes a complete u-turn with the next track 'Of Forests Unknown', which is more of a extreme metal track that takes the album off on along another fork in the road.

Then just as quickly it's back to the more gentle side almost folk  with 'Havamal'. A track much more in line with the opening track. I tell you this album has more twists and turns than a bucket full of snakes.

'Roman Land' once again is Evil Dead metal as I like to call it, with its screeching vocals. I tell you this album will have you in knots trying to decipher it. If ever there was an album that I couldn’t put into a particular genre than this is it.

If you want something different, and if you like me don’t stick to listening to one particular genre of music, then you have to check out this album. It has something for all you metal heads out there, but also something for those of you who like to hear a real mixed bag of metal
