Artist: Fall Ov Serafim
   Title: Nex Lehovae
   Label: Regain Records

Hailing from the ashes of Misteltein, the black metal band that had two albums on New Fashion Record in 1999 and 2000, since then the band has seen various band member changes and with those changes come a change of name Fall Ov Serafim.

The band have remained true to their black metal roots, but with this album they have brought in a symphonic element to the sound that gives the whole black metal genre a new dimension.

The album is as intense as anything I heard in the whole genre this year, the band have gone for a hearty mix of death metal and thrash with this release, the album opens up in ferocious style with ‘Towards The Throne of Tragedy’ and continues its dark path with tracks like the soul wrenching ‘Purification’ a track that epitomizes the bands new sound, and the almost melodic trappings of ‘A Poisoned Blessing’.

The band are at their most fearsome on the tracks ‘The Coming Conflict’ with is rampaging guitars and outrageous growling vocals, and ‘Your Paradise Suffers’ with its ominous bass lines and symphonic undertones.

The whole thrash, black metal, death metal genre has been looking for something a little different and with Fall Ov Serafim the genre has found a new hope for the future.
