The
man is back, yes Rob Halford delivers what he does best, never mind past
projects, this time it's for real. This album shows Halford at his
prime. Judas Priest fans must be crying out for a reunion after
listening to the blistering tracks on this album.
Each track absolutely screams out pure metal to your ears. After all
those years since he departed from Judas Priest he has come back with an
album worthy of his talent.
The Title track has Mr Halford reaching the notes only he can.
'Resurrection' is the only title that this album could have really, as
back from the land of the dead this man and his vocal chords burst back
into life as if they were never away.
In the past he may have looked like an extra from the video YMCA, but
the cover of this album shows him sitting astride a motor bike clad in
black leathers and by the look on his face this is one mean dude who
will not be laughed at by anyone.
He's mean, he's bad and he rocks like only the old time classic rockers
could. It was 15 years ago since I first saw this man in concert and he
totally blew us away with his power and might. Totally committed to
every single note of every song he performed. To look at him now on the
cover of this album he doesn't look a day older, and to be honest his
voice has not suffered the ravage of the years at all, if anything he
his voice has matured and has all that it had before and a whole lot
more to offer.
The opening lines of ' Silent Screams' is slow and soft and you really
wouldn't believe anyone who could sing this so gently could carry on to
the high pitched screams that follow once the track gets going.
'Cyberworld' blasts through you like a bolt from the blue, a track
reminiscent of Free Wheel Burning. It's fast its furious and it will
give you whiplash!
'Twist' is somewhat of a surprising find on this album and to be honest
it wouldn't be wrong to say it could have been found on an Alice Cooper
album. If you had to choose one track off the album to say what the
clubs might pick up on then I would say this would be a strong contender
and could see Rob capturing the attention of a new league of fans that
wouldn't have listened to his heavier material.
Want an album to help blow those cobwebs away? Well this is the one for
you then.
