At the tender age of 51 Rob Halford show's he's still got what it takes to rock with the best of the new breed of bands. With a voice still as powerful as it was many moons ago. Both visually and vocally he is as strong and as youthful as ever. Crucible is the second album under the Halford banner after leaving Judas Priest. Rob tried to re-invent himself with 'Fight' and 'The Again With Two', but both projects sadly fell on deaf ears.

Two years have passed since the first Halford album, rather aptly named 'Resurrection' was released. This saw the rebirth of everything that Rob was so well known and deeply adored for. It brought back the very soul of the sound that we associated with him. With this new album he is less self conscious with the sound and lets the band have more say in how the songs should sound.

There is a more varied selection of tracks but it is still in keeping with the first album's attempt to bring rock back from the Nu-Metal age. Heavier than 'Resurrection', 'Crucible' is everything you could ever wish for in a Halford album and so much more. A certain winner with all his old fans and one that will no doubt show these young whipper snappers just how heavy metal is supposed to sound. There's certainly nothing wimpy about this album.

Put it on and turn it up loud, go shake those foundations and your neighbours too! If you like it heavy and you like it metal then give this album a listen.

Well done Rob! Massive respect goes out to you for bringing back metal the way it should be played. With this your latest release you've shown us all that real rockers never get old, they just get better
