Artist: Hurtlocker
Title: Fear In A Handful Of Dust
   Label: Napalm Records

Hailing from Chicago Hurtlocker are a band that definitely have that European metal sound. Hard hitting and full belt metal at its best.

For a US band to hook up with an Austrian label is credit to the band, because this type of full on metal just doesn’t get the air play in the US, unlike the likes of the European market who are much more metal friendly these days.

The album opens up with 'Symptoms' and from then on its full on metal with the speed guitars of Tim Moe being at the forefront of the bands sound, the spine wrenching riffs are backed up by the hard hitting vocals of Grant Belcher.

The album goes at a blistering pace from start to finish and leaves you breathless by its sheer ferocity. Especially so on 'Goddamn Reflection' which simply has to be one of the speed metal tracks of the year.

With the band embarking of a intense tour of Europe at the start of the new year, the future of the band is in their hands, and I'm sure the European crowds with take them to their hearts. Let's hope so and make 2006 a good year for Hurtlocker.
