Artist: Interlock
   Title: The Skinless Remixes
   Label: Anticulture Records

For a band to replace one of their vocalists after getting great reviews for their debut, might be seen by some as pushing the self destruct button on your career.

However, Interlock have decided to do just that and have re-recorded the first track ‘Skinless’ off their debut album ‘Crisis//Reinvention’, with new vocalist Christina Gainy.  Christina replaces Emmiline May who was said previous vocalist with the band.  In addition to this they've also included one new track ‘Blue’ on this release.

With time on their hands, the band have decided to include not just one, but eight remixes of ‘Skinless’.  With each remix the song is somewhat transformed into a multitude of personalities, thus making this an interesting, if not perhaps sometimes pointless exercise.

It’s hard to give credence to this release, as some of the remixes are hard on the ear, with the original track being totally lost. I think that the band would have been better using this time to put a few more new tracks on this release, and give us a better taste of what new vocalist Christina Gainy actually brings to the band.

One for fans of the band me thinks.
