This album marks the ten-year anniversary of these Dutch metallers and their crusade to true metal. Dedicated to power metal, these guys have popped out 6 albums in the past years, although they have been beset by record company failures, they’ve still managed to carry on. And with this, their power metal opus, they’ve kept to the popular formula that keeps fans coming back for more. The strong guitar opening to the album highlights what can be expected across all of it. Backed by an impressive drumbeat, the album is strong within the first song. The instrumental meshes perfectly with the growl of the vocals melting softly into a different beat. The power metal is also obvious from the start, with the constant drums providing the perfect backdrop for this album. For what it’s worth, this album manages to encapsulate all that is good about power metal: the strong dual guitars backing each other, the bass hidden by everything but still ever – present, and the irrepressible drumbeat that pulls everything together. Not to forget the vocals woven throughout every song, from the light growling and the higher, comparatively softer vocal that dominates every piece. The head-bang is an ever-present moment for the listener, with the sublime guitar solos further focusing the listener towards sheer bliss – especially for the power metal fan. This is the epitome of power metal; it is at its finest here and shows why these guys have been successful for over a decade! A favourite track at the moment is 'Nightmare'. With its catchy hook and pure throbbing guitars, this is power metal at its finest. Review
