Quite
where to start with an album like this is a difficult one. It's
difficult because it's so damn wonderful. There's so much I love about
it that I would write 10 pages and still not cover everything I'd want
to tell you about it.
'Worldchanger' is the second solo album by lead singer Jorn Lande.
Although classed as one of the world's most talented hard rock vocalists
his name is not as well known as it should be. One listen to this album
will make you'll realize that this is about to be rectified.
His voice has a similar sound to the mighty David Coverdale. However the
power and might that comes through in all the songs on this album are of
a quality that Coverdale could only dream of.
Even at his peak Coverdale could not produce an album as delicious to
the senses as this. Before you shoot me down for saying this, listen to
this album, then make up your own mind as to whether I'm way off mark on
this, or rather that I've hit the nail on the head.
There simply is not one thing you could find fault with on this album.
Jorn Lande's voice is breathtakingly powerful. Anyone going to The Gods
2001 on the Saturday will be in for an experience of a lifetime with
this man and his band.
The album opens with the anthem like 'Tungur Knivur', an instant
favourite with the fans I have no doubt of that. From that we go
onto a track that 'Sunset Station', which swoops down on you and takes
you on a heady journey that's exciting and will get your heart racing
and your blood pumping. Guitarist Tore Moren is really let loose on this
one. He plays like a man possessed. 'Glow in the Dark' disturbs you in
an almost Sabbath fashion with it's intro.
Want to kick back and chill out? OK, well listen to 'House of Cards'.
Want some rock with real balls? Try 'Bless the Child', it's fast it's
furious, it will shake the living daylights out of you. A mix between
Gun N' Roses meets Dio, with the fury of Judas Priest! Want something to
play in the clubs? Ha! They've got that too on here! 'Christine' has the
rhythm to get you moving.
Produced by Jorn himself and mixed by none other than Tommy Hansen,
famous for his work with Helloween, Pretty maids and Heaven's Gate.
You're gonna love this album, you really are. If you're thinking of
buying it for that someone special in your life then you'd best buy two
copies.
One listen to this and you'll not let it go believe me!
This album is the cherry on the top of the cake, the froth on the top of
your pint; it's something you've waited a very long time to hear.
