KaiDekA are a five piece nu metal band from Falmouth.  These Metal For The Masses finalists mix old school metal from the nineties with new influences on this their debut album, including a bit of metalcore.

'Placebos Devine' is possibly the most perfect opener for this album.  Mixing a bit of everything, including thrash and metalcore primarily, the screamo lyrics and the fast, furious music create an opening that cannot be beaten.  This had me head-banging on the first listen.  It really pulls you into the album and shows what they can do.  The song has a near-military backbeat provided by a very strong bass.

This fast pace is kept up across the whole album, and at some points is either hypnotic or frenetic.

'Seize The Day' is a current favourite, and hits the frenetic side from the first second.  The screamo and the backing vocals seem to be fighting each other, not to be heard, but more of a vocal battle, which works particularly well here.  'Let's Blame Dahmer' doesn't actually blame Dahmer, yet it is a fun, head-banging track although the majority of the lyrics are screamed, except for those which actually pinpoint what he did/what the vocalist wants to do.

The tracks are mainly four to five minutes long, with some shorter and some longer.  The thrash is kept up well throughout, and it's nice to be able to hear the drummer at times, as they can be so often neglected.  This debut album is a blazer of an album, and would be enjoyed not only by KaiDekA fans but also those who like thrash/metalcore, although the trash seems to be more evident.
