US melodic power metallers Kamelot return with the bands second live opus and once again unleash their own unique spin of the whole Power Metal genre.

The title of the new album 'One Cold Winters Night' couldn’t have been scripted any better, as the live album and DVD was recorded at Oslo’s Rockerfeller Music Hall in February 2006 as part of the bands The Black Halo World Tour, during one of the countries coldest winters on record.  But, the snow and blizzards didn’t deter the bands adoring fans as the stood out in the cold waiting outside the sold out venue.

The album itself captures the sheer magnitude and power of the band in full flow, the show opens up with 'Intro: Un Assasino Molto Silenzioso’, before the band open up proper with the title track off the bands latest studio release ‘The Black Halo’.  Even on the CD version you can feel the passion and excitement of the crowd as Khan and the rest of the band unleash what has to be one of the best live albums I’ve heard for sometime.

Things continue with the magnificent ‘Soul Society’ and the equally superb ‘The Edge Of Paradise’.  This album not only concentrates on 'The Black Halo' release, but also incorporates the very best of Kamelot’s back catalogue.

The show also has a few surprise guests in the form of Sascha Paeth who plays along side Thomas Youngblood on ‘Moonlight’, Simone Simons from Epica who guests on ‘The Haunting’, as well as Snowy Shaw formerly of Dream Evil who performs on my favourite Kamelot track ‘March Of Mephisto’, and even Mari Youngblood lends her vocals to ‘Center of The Universe’, ‘Abandoned’ and on the mesmerizing ‘Elizabeth (Part I. II and III)’. 

This album has them all and with the added feature for European fans of the live DVD show, plus the 2 CD package, this one is a must for all fans of the band and power metal fans all over the world.
