Artist: L.A. Guns
Title: Loud & Proud (Live from Hollywood)
   Label: Mascot Records

What can I say about LA Guns?  As a die-hard fan of Phil Lewis since his days with Girl, Phil has always been in my eyes the heart of LA Guns.  Never mind the Jizzy Pearl or the Ralph Saenz period, LA Guns isn’t the Guns without Lewis at the mike.

After the critically acclaimed return to form album ‘Tales From The Strip” last year, an album I loved to bits by the way, and after catching them recently live in action at Bradford Rio, this new incarnation of LA Guns with Lewis at the helm and Steve Riley on drums, these two original Hollywood Vampires are joined by the very able Adam Hamilton on bass and the exceptional talent that is Stacey Blades on guitar, this is one of the strongest LA Guns line-ups for many a year.

This live album captures the new line up at their sleazy best and contains something for every LA Guns fan.  From the classics like ‘No Mercy’, ‘Sex Action’ and ‘Never Enough’, to the more recent material like the cover ‘Rock N Roll Outlaw’ taken from the ‘Rip Off The Covers’ album, and 'Hellraisers Ball’ from ‘Waking The Dead'.  Even Stacey Blades steps up to the mike for ‘Nothing Better To Do’.

But what LA Guns live set wouldn’t be complete without the likes of ‘Electric Gypsy', ‘Ballad Of Jayne', and of course the show stopper ‘Rip And Tear’, oh yes they're all here for you delectation.

The CD also boasts two bonus DVD cuts of ‘Hollywood’s Burning’ and ‘It Don’t Mean Nothing’ for your viewing pleasure.

This is a must for all fans of the band as it captures them at their very best, that is in a live environment as rock n' roll was always meant to be.
