Ever since the early eighties the name of Michael Landau has been associated with some of the biggest names in rock and pop. Including such diverse names as Seal, James Taylor and Miles Davis, as well as vying for the position of guitarist with Toto with fellow high school band mate Steve Lukather, in addition to appearing on thousands of albums over the years, this man has done it all. This album takes in a number of performances by The Michael Landau Group at 'The Baked Potato’ in North Hollywood, recorded between the 17th January 2004 and the 19th January 2006, each capturing this virtuoso guitar legend at his live best. With blues
tracks from the sublime to the quite magnificent, Landau has them all in
his portfolio. With such warming moments as ‘Worried Life
Blues’, ‘The Mighty SB’, the mixed jazz blues feel of ‘Ghosts
And The Goblins’, right on to the uplifting tones of ‘Good
Friend’, and the almost psychedelic tones of ‘The Sun’, this album
has something for every fan of good honest blues. |
