With the bands fifth studio album 'Hunting Shadows' due for release in late February, Last Autumns Dream have put together a rather special double album with one disc giving you the best of the bands previous four studio albums, plus two bonus tracks and a second live disc of the bands successful United Forces Of Rock show at Rockfabrik, Ludwigsburg Germany in September 2007.

The first disc contains sixteen of the bands finest tracks, opening up with the excellent ‘Again And Again’ from the bands self titled debut release ‘Last Autumns Dream’ and shows that even when they started out, they were always going to be something special.  At the time a buzz about the band was heard throughout the entire Melodic Rock scene.

This album has some of my favourite tracks from the band on it like the superb opener and the likes of ‘Pages’, the up tempo rocker from their ‘Saturn Skyline’ opus, as well as ‘American Girl’, a great feel good summertime song that will warm even the coldest of winter hearts.

Other highlights are ‘Up In Paradise’ from the 'II' album, the sublime ‘Love To Go’ from the 'Winter In Paradise' album. 

The live portion of this double album shows what a great band Last Autumns Dream are in the live arena as Erlandsson shows he can deliver the goods, not just in the studio but in front of a crowd where it matters.  Malecek also shines out as one of the finest Melodic guitarists around.

Opening with ‘For The Young And The Wild’ really gets things going in style and following that with ‘After Tomorrows Gone’, two real barnstormers that really get the set underway in emphatic style.

The live version of my favourite LAD song ‘Pages’ is just phenomenal, so is most of this live show actually with the likes of ‘Heat Of Emotion’, ‘Rock N' Roll Is Saving My Soul’ and ‘Again And Again’, all ranking as favourites of mine, although there is so much more to this than just these few of my favourites.  This band are indeed the whole package, not just in the studio but also live.

This is a great album not just for fans of the band but also for those who haven’t heard much by the band before and would like to sample what each album has to offer before purchasing, (because you will purchase them all) and marks a new era in Melodic Rock bands, that will appeal to not only the hard core fans of the genre but also those just dabbling around the edges of the pond, who want something with a modern edge without loosing the roots of the genre.  Last Autumns Dream are the band that will win more fans that loose them.
