Hailing from Greece the Stoner/Doom Metallers Lucky Funeral have unleashed their self-titled debut album on the masses. This is pure unrivalled Doom Metal with more than a touch of Stoner vibe thrown in its bass upon bass, tuned down guitar upon tuned down guitar and a heavy as fuck drum section, think early Sabbath, with the attitude of Pantera with just a sprinkling of Clutch for good measure and you have the recipe for Lucky Funeral.

As the album gets underway with the thumping ‘My Dealer Is The Best’ the gauntlet is thrown down. As the band pound and mash their way though the guts and grime of the Stoner Metal with unheralded abandonment such as you will ever here from the genre.

This is no holds barred thunderous Metal from track to track as this is an album that just makes you feel dirty from the off a thing that some might find uneasy but fans of Stoner Metal just thrive on it.

With tracks titles like ‘Babis The Stoned Cat’, ‘Bleeding Through’ and my personal favourite ‘Drunk Crocodile’, the band are definitely in for the long haul and will surely be making inroads on the Euro Festival scene for sure next year they might not headline but they will sure make a few people sit up an take notice.
