Following the announcement that Lynyrd Skynyrd are to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year, Universal music have decided to release this album with a whole load of extras, including 6 bonus tracks and a DVD of the bands 1975 live performance on the BBC’s Old Grey Whistle Test.

This album is actually the last album to be released that featured all the original members of the band on before that fatal plane crash that took the lives of Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, and Gaines’s sister Cassie.

The induction into the Hall of Fame comes just 3 years after the bands 30^th anniversary and doesn’t come a day too soon.

Lynyrd Skynyrd have always been the epitome of Southern Blues Rock and set the bench mark back then for all to follow.  There have been a great many contenders for their crown as Kings of Southern Rock, but none have succeeded in taking their crown, and I doubt anyone ever will.

This package is a must for fans of the band both old and new, as well as for all those nostalgia freaks who just want a piece of music history.

I feel that I don’t have to review this album like most of the new releases I receive, because the album will just sell itself without any hype, or new views of the album as it has all been said way before I started doing reviews. 

Here is a band that are so legendary I doubt any words could fully give them the full credit and recognition they deserve for their lifetime contributions to the world of rock as we know it.

This album may not be a classic like the previous albums by the band, but the fact that it is the last album to feature all the original members is a selling point all of its own, and the accompanying DVD of the live performance more than makes up for that fact.
