Artist: Joe Matera
   Title: Slave To The Fingers
   Label: W.A.R. Productions

Joe Matera is an Australian rock guitarist/music journalist with over 25 years of experience in different bands.  After leaving his last in 2010 he released 2 instrumental albums in quick succession, with this being the first, but the first all-electric instrumental EP.  Played on a six string electric guitar, the evocative instrumentals are a credit to the genre of rock.

The recurrent pure rock riffs and the easy slide into each song evoke a softer yet purer form.  Each song is in its own way different, with the title track 'Slave to the Fingers' showing off Joe’s skills perfectly, with the strong hooks throughout providing an easy listening experience of rock, which is listenable and easily memorable.

Favourite songs include 'Slave to the Fingers', a prefect rock piece powerfully performed by the single, simple six string.  It shows Joe’s skills off to perfection and shows why he is still such a well-renowned performer.  Another favourite moment is the segue into one song from another, with the change in guitar work clearly evident as the beginning of another song.  'Cruise Control' is a definitive rock piece with softer elements and therefore is another favourite.

This soft low album allows for the rock purist to hear the guitar at it is best, on its own and worked by a skilled performer.
