Artist: Midas
   Title: Red Shoes
   Label: Plastic Tank

As one who always praises young bands who take the bull by the horns to get their music out to the masses by whatever means possible, I have nothing but admiration for Stourbridge’s own Midas, who have put their own label together for the release of their new single ‘Red Shoes’.  A real slice of feel good indie rock that is worthy of any national radio play list.

The song has all the right ingredients for projecting the band into instant stardom a rocking back beat a real tune behind it and a great catchy chorus and that’s what the mere mortal radio listeners are asking for. The bands bio boasts a quote resembling the band to the likes of Echo and the Bunnymen, U2 and Fall Out Boy, the last one I can see the familiarity, but the other two are beyond me.  This band can rock and deliver punchy guitar filled tunes that are sure floor fillers.

The second track on the single ‘Sirens’ is more of the same with some fine rhythms from guitarists Lee and Kris and with Kris’s very now vocal style the band are sure to get themselves into the forefront of the indie rock scene if given the right breaks.

So watch out Midas definitely have that golden touch, you have been forewarned.
