This is the bands first release in four years and during those four years there have been a great many changes in the overall music scene.  Bands have come and gone, trends have changed, but one fact still remains, the fabulous quality of bands coming out of Europe.  If you have quality it doesn’t matter if your flavor of the week or not, it's knowing that there will always be those in the music business who recognize quality when the hear it, and Lion Music is one of those labels.

Mind's Eye are a band that have lived through various band line-up changes and label changes, since they came onto the scene back in 1994, under the moniker of Afterglow.  Only the nucleus of the band Johan Niemann and Daniel Flores remain.  Now with Andreas Novak on vocals the band have released their new album ‘Walking on H20’.

I’m a big fan of the whole concept album thing, and Mind's Eye have a monster on their hands, taking topics like religion, science, relationships, environmental issue’s and even alien abduction makes for captivating listening.

The album is full of quality songs that are progressive in feel without being too pompous or overwhelming.  Particular tracks of note are the magnificent opener ‘A Rabbit In A Hat’ which questions man's conquest of space. The haunting ‘Mrs. Clair Voyance’ which is simply another masterstroke, together with my favourite track the grandiose ‘Sacred Rules’, and ‘Heal My Karma’ coming a close second.

To sum up it all up, this is a must by album for those who like the whole concept album genre.  If you liked the complexity of Queensryche’s Operation Mindcrime then you’ll enjoy this.  I must say that Walking On H2O isn’t as heavy as Mindcrime, but has the same intensity of subject matter.
