With a wealth of talent at his finger tips Kasper Gram has put together a band that will simply rock your world. Taking on board experience from such bands as Royal Hunt, Pretty Maids, Manticora and Kingdom Come, Gram has enlisted the talents of Allan Tschicaja on drums, Jacob Kjaer on guitar and completing the line-up, the powerhouse vocalist that is Henrik Brockmann. 'Follow The Dreamer' is an all out attack on the senses with the driven bass lines of Gram, the pounding drums of Tschicaja and the superb six string work of Kjaer, all interwoven with superb vocals of Brockmann in what is a great Metal album. Opening up with the title track ‘Follow The Dreamer’ shows the bands intentions to rock from the off, with Kjaer unleashing the monstrous riffs early and sustaining them throughout the song, whilst the tub thumper Tschicaja and Gram lay down a thunderous back beat, but it’s the tremendous vocals of Brockmann that take the track beyond good to excellent. A real barnstormer of an opener. It’s heads down once more with the hard rockin’ ‘Never Surrender’. Again a riff spewn master-class from Kjaer with Brockmann unleashing a mighty vocal once more. The pace is picked up pretty quickly as Tschicaja gets the full on metal of ‘Traces Of Fire’ underway. This one is fast and furious at almost Power Metal speeds, with Gram again pounding out six different shade of the brown stuff out of his bass throughout on this one once again and in perfect harmony with Tschicaja’s almost pneumatic drumming, outstanding stuff. It's back to the meat and bones metal with the dark vibed ‘Fairytale’ and the monstrous rifftastic ‘Dangerous’, before one of my many favourite tracks off this superb album the sublime ‘Victim Of A Crime’. Once again with the guitar wizardry of Kjaer being the main talking point of the track. The pace is brought right down as the band show of their more gentle side with the superb ballad ‘Broken Wings’ as Brockmann shows what a great vocalist he really is, as give one of the vocal best vocals on the entire album. It’s full on metal once more as the pace is picked up substantially with the tremendous ‘Push It To The Limit’ and all guns blazing attack. This is metal as it should be. The bass lines on the intro of ‘Take Me High’ will shake you very foundations, but when the track gets going this is a track that simply powers on through, as does the majestic tones of ‘Away’, before the old school salute of ‘Long Live The Heroes’, which rounds of a great album from a band that are going to make waves throughout 2010, you take my word for it.
