Artist: Moke
   Title: Carnival
   Label: Fruit Pie Records

After their record company Ultimatum went bankrupt back in 2002 and the band splitting up in 2003 the album was never released in this country.

And may never have seen the light of day over here in the UK if Fruit Pie hadn’t signed John Hogg to a solo deal and therefore secured the rights to Carnival and set about releasing it for the UK market.

After receiving high acclaim in the US and after successfully touring with the likes of the Black Crowes and Kings X the future looked promising for the band but fate dealt them a heavy blow and the end was nigh for Moke.

Carnival is a mix of radio friendly tunes that were making big headlines for bands such as Coldplay and Radiohead and the like back in the UK at the time.

The talent of John Hogg is very apparent on the album and hopefully his new project the John Hogg Band will prove a better venture for him and give him the fruits of his labour he deserves.
