When it comes down to
straight up no frills hard rocking then you better look no further than
Nashville Pussy, who feature the husband and wife combo of Blaine
Cartwright and Ruyter Suys leading the pack together with Karen Cuda and
Jeremy Thompson in support, together they are Nashville Pussy.
This good ol’ boy no nonsense rock features bone crushing rhythms and highly charged fuel injected rock from the off with the mighty ‘Speed Machine’, and from this point on political correctness is well and truly thrown out the window, as the drugs, drink and womanising begins in true Rock N' Roll style. The album continues with the title track 'From Here To Texas’, another riff filled spectacle that's just oozing good time rock n' roll from every chord. Never mind what’s going on in the world today, just throw back a few beer and inject your soul with some good old fashioned Redneck rock. The un-pc thing I was talking about is right on track with ‘Drunk Driving Man’, a real lick filled hard rocker if ever there was one. Then there’s the mellow southern blues of ‘Lazy Jesus’, complete with harmonica and a little jew’s harp sound on the geetar. This hard edge rock n' roll continues with I’m So High’, which again is as kick-ass good ol' boy rock as you're gonna get and it's just fantastic. But it’s the likes of ‘Ain't Your Business and ‘Dead Men Can't Get Drunk' that really makes the band stand out from the rest. High octane sleaze driven old school ... and just listen to the lyrics, they're just superb! If you thought you’d heard the best of the band then this album will make you rethink your opinion as the hard rock just keeps on coming in spades. ‘Late Great USA’ rocks big style and ‘Why Why Why’ is just excellent, again you’ve just gotta listen to the lyrics of this one. Then it's back to the bluesy southern rock vibe with ‘Stone Cold Down’ before the album rounds up big style with ‘Give Me A Hit Before I Die’. A track that reminds much of Alice Cooper in his early days, sleazy and down and dirty. This band are hard
rocking, hard drinking mothers and aren’t afraid to let the world know
it and for that reason alone I'd suggest you go out and buy yourself a
slice of good ol' fashioned Country Metal Nashville Pussy Style. |
