Artist: New Project
   Title: Decay
   Label: Retinue Records

Retinue Records are a new label that has set their selves an objective ... 'to attempt to bring some killer releases to the eyes and ears of the public' ... and with this you are sure to get some very different and creative releases if the likes of Australian band New Project are anything to go by.

The music scene in Australia is something of a mystery to me its only when something extraordinary comes out of that country do we get to hear about. The band has relocated to London and has taken advantage of the move to break new ground musically.

'Decay' is the first single to be taken from the bands forthcoming release 'Ultraviolent Light'. The band have mixed the electro fusion sound with a metal rhythm section and come up with some quite interesting results. The track really goes for the jugular from the start, with its heavy industrial electronic sound, and the piercing vocals that wouldn’t go amiss in Camden's Electric Ballroom on a Saturday night.

The second track is more metal influenced than the first, with much heavier bass and guitar sounds breaking away from the industrial Goth sound, but still hitting the senses hard with some of the most disturbing vocals since Danny Filth first hit the scene.

This type of industrial Goth metal might not be radio friendly, but, there is definitely a thriving underground market for this type of band.
