This is The Morning After's second album, following 'You Can Hurt Steel' in 2009.  This punky puffy glam band take elements of rock and metal to create a bizarre yet upbeat album.  Yet they do have an  A-Ha feel to them, unless that's just me!

Using the poppy punky rock feel of the 80s and bringing it into the 21st century with a more metal background.  The album is very upbeat and possibly a good buy for those who remember glam the first time around.  The happy songs are only enhanced by the baking vocals and the less than heavy guitar riffs, although talented and have the occasional solo, are usually stuck behind a very joyful sounding singer.

The songs seem to focus more on the happy emotions, so happiness, love and joy.  The positivity shines through in every song.  This is probably one to play for those who want to sing-along-a-song as all the lyrics are easy to hear and can be learnt easily.  This is a definite nod to 70s glam and still A-Ha sounding.  It wouldn't disappoint those who like to sing along, and reminds me slightly of some Queen songs ('I Want To Break Free' being an obvious one).  'America' is possibly the most up-beat song, talking of love and being young – slightly sickly but tries to use the backing vocals to emphasize this.....yeuch!

However, this happy rock mix isn't bad, in fact it's probably what you need to hear to get you motivated and up in the morning.  But if you're a heavy metal/thrash/speed/power mental fan, this isn't for you.  Possibly for your ten year old child/sibling, but not you.
