Artist: 7 Months
   Title: 7 Months
   Label: Frontiers Records

7 Months have been hailed by some quarters as the Progressive Rock Band of the Millennium. A title that has a lot to live up. But this self-titled release has gone someway to showing people why they have been so highly acclaimed.

Combining a mixture of old style rock the band remind me of such giants as Kansas, Yes and the mighty Rush, but with a new edge to them.

Such a mix is notable on "The Night". A track that shows the old and new in perfect harmony. At the other end of the scale we have "Senorita Serenade", which has old school prog rock written a over it. There's more than a lashing of keyboards thrown in on this particular track. One major influence that you tend to associate with this genre.

Other high points on the album are "New Age", a track with a belting opening. It has a definite Royal Hunt fee then takes you into a more familiar sound that is sustained throughout the rest of the track. All in all not a bad album.

Prog Rock band of the millennium? Well we will just have to see ...
