'Flying Through Infinity' is the debut release from Palace Terrace, who are mainly virtuoso guitar legend George Bellas, tenor vocalist Jonathan R. Marshall, along with the talents of Sasha Horn on drums and percussion. 'Flying Through Infinity' is a mix of Neoclassical and Progressive style with composer Bellas really igniting the genre with some fine compositions. Joined by Marshall’s unmistakable vocals laying down that classical edge to the album, which marry along with Bellas’s own rich harmonies. From the opening melee of Horns drums mixed with the haunting keyboards that get ‘The Tenth Dimension’ underway, the Neoclassical Prog feel is there and remains throughout the album, with the twin vocals mixing remarkably well and with those soar away guitars, this is a great way for us to be introduced to what Palace Terrace are all about. The Neoclassical Prog continues with ‘Chaos Theory’, where the track opens up at a monstrous pace then settles down as Marshall’s magnificent vocals take over, then the keys and drums attack the senses with a 'Flight Of The Bumble Bee' style assault. But it’s the sheer power and majesty of vocals that really lift this track to another level. This is Neoclassical Metal at its finest. You really have to admire the intricate tempo changes as it plays fast and loose with the classics. When I hear the words Neoclassical this is what I expect and this track has it in boat loads. ‘Time Will Tell’ is another fine example of Bellas’s composer prowess as the track once again feature heavily those superb vocals chords of Marshall and with the Bellas shining on every instrument except drums, where Horn reigns supreme, I’m continually impressed with each listen of this album and l continue to find some new intricate melodies and bridges after each listen. I’m a big fan of the band Kamelot and Palace Terrace remind me greatly of what Khan and the rest of the band are about. Intricacies and quick tempo changes with Marshall on the mike, I can see these two bands developing a similar fan base. Although the whole genre isn’t exactly radio friendly there are a few more commercial style tracks on the album like, one of my personal favourites ‘I Know Your Home’ and especially ‘Who Am I’. Another more commercial track is 'Declaration’ with it's more mellow melodic feel and rates as one of Bellas finest tracks to date, but all the tracks on this album could have easily fitted that criteria because I can't fault this album in any way. The album touches so many different genres and vibes which makes this album so good in so many ways. It continues to blow me away with ‘Lights Fall Down’, again a change of tempo as things pick up to an almost blur of keys and drums, this is where the Kamelot similarity is at its most strong and believe me this is just a great slice of Symphonic Metal. ‘From The Day Forward’ sees yet another change in direction, the tempo is brought down as Marshall gives his finest performance on the album so far, with all that power and grace he surely must have the lung capacity of a sperm whale! It's back to the more traditional Progressive slant of the album with ‘End Of Time’ and as the album closes with ‘Mesmerized’. You like me will just reach out for the remote and start this album over and over again, such is its impact.
