Artist: Phoenix Down
   Title: Under A Wild Sky
   Label: Frontiers Records

Hands up all those people who have heard of this band? Ok, now hands up all those who are familiar with the name Kane Roberts? Ahhh, that's more like it. From humble beginnings as guitarist for Alice Cooper, Mr Roberts has toiled hard to come up with a band to remember. Whereas his earlier album 'Saints and Sinners' was more along the soft rock line and didn't do as well as it maybe could have, this album shows that rock really does pump through those mighty veins of his.

A copy of that earlier album does indeed grace my collection and has not been left to gather dust over the years.

Imagine my delight to find that 'Rebel Heart' has been revamped and included in this new offering. So what else does the album hold in store and what are it's main influences then? Well it opens with 2 tracks that could have very easily been performed by the mighty Mr Cooper himself. 'Walk' and 'In Another Lifetime' are two of the more melodic tracks this album has to offer.

Anyone who enjoyed Foreigners 'Mr Moonlight' album will find this a compulsive addition to their music collection. So the big question is does Phoenix Down have an individual sound or are they a pale copy of other bands? Well one listen to this album will confirm to you that Mr Roberts and his assorted musicians have produced a fine album indeed. Now & The Productions must be very pleased to have this artist and his band signed to them
