Since the band's insertion
on the Melodic and Hard Rock communities, this band have gone from
Eurovision hopefuls to world conquering rockers. The band debut
release ‘Metal Will Stand Tall’ was originally released in the bands
native Sweden only in 2006, but soon word got round and the album got a
full worldwide release date in 2007. This spring-boarded the band
onto the world stage with tours with Hammerfall and Krokus doing 31
shows in 18 countries. But this was only the beginning as in 2007
the band's second album ‘Sweet Trade’ carried on where the debut
left off. Now in 2009 the band are back with their third album
‘Clash Of The Elements’.
The band have taken the bull by the horns with this new album, there is a definite purpose about it. It's definitely an album aimed at cementing them as a serious Melodic/Hard Rock band, mixing great anthemic rockers favourable amongst fans of the first two albums, but also this album has some sublime melodic moments that makes this album stand out as the bands best so far. Opening up with ‘Too Much Of Everything’, not the massive guitar fuelled opener you’d expect but you know that that time will come. This mid-tempoed opener shows the degree of confidence within the band that this album will appeal to all levels so it doesn’t matter what opens up the album. The melodic rock of the first two albums is here again in abundance as the album continues with the rockier vibe of ‘Caroline’, this for me is where the band really start to come into their own. This has Scandinavian Rock written all over with its catchy chorus, infectious guitar groove and a foot tapping back beat,. Yes The Poodles are back. Thing's continue with that real groove filled anthemic feel with ‘Like No Tomorrow’, before one of my favourites from the band ‘One Out Of Ten’. Two really classy slices of feel good Hard Rock both different in tempo and theme, but equally superb There’s a little bit of Eastern promise to the intro of 'I Rule The Night’ before it just explodes into a real top notch rock track that will have them dancing in the rock clubs around the world for sure. The heavy groove is continued with another of my favourites in ‘Give Me A Sign’, before things slow down just a little with the heady ballad like tones of ‘Sweet Enemy’. The band really mix it up as always and again things get rocked out with ‘7 Days A Week’. This song takes me back to the good old days of Sunset Strip sleaze rock. Then the band really turn the screws with the heavier ‘Pilot Of The Storm’ before taking it back down with the Flamenco guitar filled ‘Can’t Let You Go’. Things continue with the more melodic rocker ‘Don’t Rescue Me’, before the elements take over and the rain and thunder opens up the bass filled ‘Heart Of Gold’. The band quickly turn it around and bring things back up with the excellent ‘Dream To Follow’, before the album closes with the wonderful ‘Wings Of Destiny’. This is without a doubt the band's finest album to date and one that will again send waves around the Melodic and Hard Rock scene so be prepared for a storm as 'Clash of the Elements' hits the streets
