From the frozen waste lands of Finland they came and brought doom to us all. Reverend Bizarre are hailed by many as the most significant doom metal band to come out of Finland. Their Sabbath style bass ridden style tunes bring even the best of us down to their darkest depths. This may not be to everyone's tastes, but Reverend Bizarre have made an army of fans from their downtrodden doom and gloom metal, so they must have something about them. 'Crush The Insects' is more palatable than most doom metal about these days. It's deliberate slowed down tempo may drive a sane man over the edge, but one mans meat is another mans poison so they say. The ultra slow and extremely dark tones on vocalist Albert Witchfinder, are only matched by the wall of sound created by the rhythm section of Earl of Void on drums. The guitars of Peter Vicar are there to bring some sort of melody to it all. Fans of the genre will hail this album, as one of the greatest doom metal albums for years, while others will hate it for exactly the same reasons.
