Artist: Saint Daemon
   Title: Pandermonium
   Label: Frontiers Records

To date this has been a great year for Heavy Metal and Rock and all their sub genres, as album after album impresses us here at the Mayfair Mall and again another fine release has reached us.

The band is Saint Daemon and the album ‘Pandeamonium’.  This is only the bands second release and like their debut album 'Shadows Lost From The Brave’, it's a real corker of a Melodic Metal album and carries on from where the band left off with their debut.

This is big riffs, a pumping rhythm section and an awesome vocalist, just what the doctor ordered when the world around us is going head over heels.  This monstrous release has all the makings of a classic Heavy Metal album as Jan Thore Grefstad and the rest of the band power through ten stunning guitar fuelled anthems.

The album opens up with ‘Deception (Reaper)’, a real ball buster of an open that sets the standard for the rest of the album, with the guitars of Nobby Noberg dominating from the off, and what can I say about Grefstad’s vocals, they are just phenomenal, he can bring the power when needed and on the slower ballads he has a melodic majesty.

The album continues with the heavier side of things with ‘The Only One Sane (Nevermore)’, a really catchy riff on this one and along with the powerhouse drums of Ronny Milianowicz and the punishing bass of Nobby Norberg, this one really rocks big time.

The title track ‘Pandeamonium’ is next, once again a great track on which Grefstad shows what a great vocal talent he really is, as his vocals tower above the rest of the band like a true Metal vocalist should.

The band are definitely going to be one of the names to follow this year if this album is anything to go by, as the likes of the bass fuelled ‘Eyes Of The Devil (Pyramid) and superb ‘A Day To Come’ show.

It's hard to believe that this album manages to surpass their debut, as ‘Shadows Lost From The Brave’ was a stunning debut, but the band have managed to go that one step further with this release and with masterpieces like ‘Fallen Angel’ and the closer ‘Fear In A Fragile Mind’, being just two of my personal favourites from this very special album.

The only fault I can find with this album is that it is only ten tracks long, but if that's the only fault I could find then I’ll forgive the band.  I truly hope the next chapter of the bands career will see at least twelve or maybe fifteen outstanding tracks on their next release.  Here’s hoping!
