Hot on the heels of their debut album Newcastle’s The Sound Ex (formerly Explosion) have retained their love of fast tuned down guitar fuelled high octane rock n' soul with their latest release ‘Palomino’. This is an album that explodes from the off and never easy on iota from the opener ‘Enchantment’, the bands full fuelled angst infused rock will simply have the more recognised Punk/Pop bands shivering as crowds will be soon about to witness a revolution when this band hit the big time. The album is full of heads down rockers with just a few surprises along the way notably the humble tones of ‘Everything Will Be Fine’, along with the superb ‘KIMB’ and the epic title track ‘Palomino’. It’s quite easily to say that this band could be huge megastars, as this new album has such a high variety of top quality songs and musical meanderings, more than enough to satisfy the young breed of new rock fans out there and even a few of us oldies too! In this world where one band takes centre stage and the sheep rock bands come out of the woodwork and try to imitate what’s supposed to be trendy, it's nice to come across a band that don’t follow the trends. The band have their own sound and are prepared to be judged by that and not the fact that they sound like so and so, this refreshing young band will ignite all that is wrong with today’s music scene and turn it on it’s heels, so be prepared, the Revolution is coming!
