The 'Evolution' EP is
Sworn Amongst's third release, coming hot on the heels of 'Severance'
and 2008's 'And So It Begins'. The British thrash quartet have had
time to develop their sound, and develop they have! The five track EP
includes A track with guitar by Jeff Waters from Annihilator. The
tracks all manage to show the guys' skills, whether it be singing or
thrashing a guitar to death. The perfectly polished tracks segue
neatly into one another, with a short gap to allow the change to be
noticed. Although this is a short EP, it is by no means a rip-off,
and contains more thrash than can be found on others A favourite track currently is the opening track of the EP, 'The False Prophecy'. By using the extensive skills of each member, the song is a perfect opener and a perfect introduction to these guys if you haven't heard them before, which I hadn't, but I will be listening to them again and again. The playability is enhanced by the guitar riffs and hooks, allowing the listener to take each part in turn and fully appreciate their sound. The vocals are strong and heavy, fitting neatly into the songs, with each part complimenting not fighting. Review by: Kerry H |
