The punk scene may have died for many back in the early eighties but no so, punk is apparently alive and kicking in Stockholm Sweden. And those die hard Swedes aren’t going to let a little thing like 25 years of pop culture stop them bringing punk back into the mainstream. ‘Once A Punk…’ started life back in 2000 but it has taken nearly five years for the final product to see the light of day, the album is full of 77 punk songs that will make those old school punks out there dig out their tartan trousers and London’s Burning tee shirt out of the closet and start pogo-ing around the room like they used too before they became accountants and big city lawyers. The band has obviously been influenced by the likes of the Clash and Stiff Little Fingers, as the similarities are too easy to spot. No more so than the Clash influenced ‘White Shiny Missiles’ with its reggae style guitars and drums, and ‘No More’ brings the Stiff Fingers sound up to date. This is definitely a feel good album and will surely win fans of the more modern day American punk bands like Green Day and the new wave of modern punk bands like The Drop Kick Murphy’s.
