What do you get if you take some of the best young musicians from the Italian Underground scene and put them together under on moniker? The answer is Wake Up Call, these are four guys that deliver big tunes with a real modern bite.

The bands self-titled five track EP is a great first taste of what the band are all about, as they really set out their stall from the off with the thumping ‘Revolution’, the band delivers a sleazy brand of hard rock that pulsates throughout the entire five tracks.

Things keep that angst filled modern edge with the stunning ‘The Devil's Round’, with frontman Tommy delivering a sleazy vibed vocal that is very reminiscent of Canadian glamster Robin Black, with Olly punching out a real riff fest, all the while the rhythm section of Dario and Matt provide a powerful back beat that just brings it all together.

The band show they can deliver a varied mix of hard edge and melodic hard rock as they bring it down just a touch, (I mean just a touch) with ‘Before I Fall’, a real great slice of modern youth angst filled rock n' roll, which is the bands first video and my choice of one of the best songs off the EP.

Speaking of modern angst rock then check out the thumping ‘Here To Stay’, a track that will go down well with both the older rock fans and the new breed of young rock fans who are just getting the message that Emo is a no no and rockin' out and having a good time is the way to go.

The EP closes with another mid tempo rocker in ‘Full Of Regrets’.  This one was overseen on the studio by the one and only Beau Hill, he who worked with the great Alice Cooper, the legend that is Eric Clapton and the mighty Europe.

This is one of the best young bands I’ve heard to come out of Italy for a while and  I for one predict these guys are  going to become household names, not just in their native Italy, but worldwide, I can't wait for the full album.
