Artist:  Wicked Sensation
   Title: Crystallized
   Label:
Metal Heaven

'Crystallized' is the third opus from metal act Wicked Sensation and again as with the bands two previous outings, they have once again shown that the band can mix traditional metal with melodic overtones that will appeal to a large demographic.

The album gets underway with 'Better World', a track which is a great opener that sets out the points I said at the start of the review.  Robert Soeterboek is back on the mike as from this opener he is in top form along with stalwart guitarist Michael Klein, who is playing the lead role from the off brining the big guns in early on on the album.

One of my favourites off this album comes in at track 2, 'My Turn To Fly', which sees tow titan vocalists coming together as Andi Deris joins Soeterboek for this one, then again it's melodic metal all the way with 'Fist Full Of Dreams', this is where Klein earns the big buck as he throws out the licks like confetti.

Things get a little heavier on the darker 'Love To Play', before one of the tracks of the album 'Gimme The Night', which sees Arjen Lucassen laying down the smooth guitars on this one.

The melodic rock mixed with the more traditional metal guitar is never more prominent than on 'Am I Right', but it's the vocals Soeterboek that really shine on this one, then the tempo is picked right back up with 'Lonely Is The Night', the die hard melodic rock fans of you will just love this one.

If I had to pick one outstanding track on this excellent album then 'Ordinary Man' would be one of those on my shortlist, big bass lines and a hard hitting drum beat mixed with some fine guitar licks, all wrapped up in Soeterboek's vocals.

For ballad lovers then 'The Love I Used To Know' is the one for you, this is where Soeterboek brings his A-game and reinforces his stature as one of the finest vocalists in the genre.

The tempo is picked up once more with another of my favourites off the album, the hard hitting rock of 'Running Through Your Veins', this one makes you want to get those dancing shows on and rock out!

The album closes with a great slice of melodic metal in 'Bleeding Hearts', this one is the cherry on the top of the cake as far as this album goes, and after four years Wicked Sensation are back and are bringing the heat, so be prepared to get burned.
