In the
world of AOR they don’t come much bigger than Joseph Williams, the one
time singer of TOTO and Peter Friestedt, the songwriter and musician who
has played with a wide range of AOR stars from Chicago to Steve Lukather.
The pair have worked together both live and in the studio numerous
times, but never before combined both their talents on one dedicated album,
that is until now. With
Williams you know that you have a voice made for AOR, just check out the
Toto albums 'The Seventh One' and 'Fahrenheit'. More recently his
vocal prowess was brought to light as the voice of Simba on the Lion
King's ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’, but it's the combination of this
great vocal talent and the excellent song writing talent that is
Friestedt, that has produced an album that will melt the hearts of AOR fans
worldwide. Add in the contributions from the likes of Tommy “will
play for the love of it ‘Denander, Bill Chapman of Chicago, Randy
Goodman and Bill Cantos, and this album has to be one of AOR's "albums of the
year". With great songs like the ‘Say Goodbye’ and 'Where To Touch You’, standing up against the melody rich ‘Stay With Me’ and the stunning ‘One More Night’. This album is a AOR fans wet dream. If you remember those Toto albums mentioned before then you will just melt away with the shear joyous musical mindscape that this album produces, and with Williams rejoining Toto for a tour this summer, this is a great way to reintroduce yourself to one of the great talents in the AOR scene and his new musical partner Friestedt, on an album that is sure to produce many more high quality releases over the years. A real summertime feel
good album for sure. |
