Your Tomorrow Alone are a six piece from Italy. This is their debut album and is heavily influenced primarily by British Goth/doom bands such as Paradise Lost, Anathema, My Dying Bride.

This album does not just focus on just the Goth/doom side.  The instrumentals are extremely melodic and are the backdrop to a varying array of vocals, ranging from light, threaded higher vocals to the deep guttural growl that is becoming so popular nowadays.

I am enjoying the way the album meanders both through the heavier and the lighter melodic side of metal.  The Italian influence is obvious when comparing these guys with The Dogma or similar.  The vocalists know their range and work within them but together to provide a pleasing effect that isn’t harsh on the ears, with the softer, higher voice working through most of the songs and providing a story for the growls to mesh onto.   This dual effect is highlighted by the use of the differing voices together and separately, with the latter being used more throughout the album.

They also manage to sing around a range of emotions – love/hate and anything in between.  This strikes me as a more melodic topic than a doom topic but it definitely works here.  A favourite track at the moment is 'Guilty' and this focuses on more emotions than the other songs do, proving a favourite through being different.
